The great city known as Los Angeles or “The City of Angels” is a huge and wonderful city with a lot to offer to everyone.  There are famous sites all over the place.  We have wonderful beaches, world famous landmarks, amazing shopping districts and even entire ethnic communities to explore.  Cultures from all around the world are represented right here in the glorious “melting pot” that Los Angeles has become.  The history is so rich and varied that it is like no other place in the world.

Los Angeles covers approximately 472 sq. miles.  It spans a multitude of geographic topologies including desert land, water and mountains.  It also features 2 rivers.  One of the big draws that Los Angeles has is the sunny and moderate climate.  The average for temperature ranges between 57 and 75 degrees year around.

Los Angeles has quite a diverse population of 3.8 million people.  That population is almost 50% Hispanic.  11.4% of the population is Asian, 9.6% are African American, 1.8% are American Indian and the rest are classified as non-Hispanic White.

Los Angeles has over 40 million visitors every single year with most of them flying in to LAX.  There are 3 other local airports too, but LAX is the most well-known of them all.  Flying is not the only way to get there though. Amtrak services the area as do multiple cruise lines.  You can also take the bus or drive there yourself.

Los Angeles has some of the most famous beaches in the world.  There is Long Beach, Venice Beach and Malibu…not to mention everything in between that 75 mile stretch of coastline.

If entertainment is what you are looking for, LA is the place to be.  It is in the heart of the American film industry.  You can walk down Rodeo Drive and see various movie stars out and about or you can cruise down to Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and check out the Walk of Fame.

Education is also highly revered in LA and it proves it by being the home of many colleges and universities that are accredited.  There are 113 of those in fact!  Some of these include UCLA and the famous Loyola.
